INTRODUCTION

There is a vast amount of existing scientific and technical knowledge, best practices and tools available from a variety of sources, including academia and research institutes, non-governmental organisations and the private sector, on ecosystem services. However, this information often needs to be collected and processed before it can be used on the ground.

Together with our members and partners, we have distilled the most relevant information and translated it into a practical course that will guide participants in integrating the concept of ecosystem services into their daily work.

TUNE IT!

Implemented from 2023 to 2025, the Erasmus+ project Nature Benefits: from Theory to Practice – TUNE IT aimed to support site managers and local (regional) authorities responsible for managing natural areas to integrate the concept of ecosystem services into their daily work, i.e. to help them communicate the value of their area, plan and prioritise the management activities, asses plans and projects or attract new funding. A training course in five languages (English, Dutch, Croatian, Turkish and Ukrainian) was developed.

For more information on the project, please visit our project page. To read more on the three training modules and the associated presentations and assignments, please refer to the Handbook , while an overview of the project outcomes can be found in the Practitioners’ brief . Several interesting presentations and recordings are added below. Don’t forget to watch the project video and get in touch if you have any questions!
