Project Cycle

Although originally used in industrial and commercial project management, the Project Management Cycle approach is equally suitable for the elaboration and implementation of a site management plan.

Monitoring is at the heart of the  Project Cycle to ensure that the planned implementation activities support the realisation of the chosen objectives. The use of the Project Cycle is especially useful in view of the Adaptive Management Approach which is recommended as the operating principle for protected area management. Flexibility in management planning is essential to ensure there is room to adapt to the outcomes of the monitoring.
